What Are the Best Fillers?
Dr. Camp understands the characteristics of each filler and how combining them can create comprehensive facial rejuvenation lasting from 6 months to 2 years. The fillers Dr. Camp uses include:
JUVÉDERM: This family of products includes JUVÉDERM Ultra, JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus, and JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus XC. These are all hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers that effectively improve the appearance of facial contours, wrinkles, and folds.
VOLUMA: VOLUMA is also a JUVÉDERM filler but is singled out as the first approved by the FDA specifically for restoring volume to the cheeks. VOLUMA can last up to 2 years and has proved to be one of the most popular fillers at our practice.
VOLBELLA®: This is also a JUVÉDERM product and the most recent to be approved by the FDA. VOLBELLA is a silky gel that’s used to produce fuller, more sensuous lips that still look natural. It can also soften the fine lines that can develop around the mouth.

Restylane®: This family of HA products includes Restylane, Restylane-L, and Restylane Lyft (formerly called Perlane®). RADIESSE®: This is the heaviest of facial dermal fillers. It’s composed of a mineral compound found naturally in bones called calcium hydroxylapatite. Besides producing immediate results, RADIESSE also continues to stimulate collagen production.
Sculptra®: Sculptra works differently than HA fillers. It is made of poly-L-lactic acid and triggers the gradual production of collagen to create a more youthful appearance. It requires multiple injections scheduled about a month apart. Results develop gradually and can last up to 2 years.

These injectable treatments can be a nonsurgical alternative to a facelift for people with early signs of facial aging. Recovery:
Expect swelling and possibly bruising for about 2 to 7 days. You can return to your daily routine right away, although you should hold off on strenuous activity and drinking alcohol until the next day.
Results:

Lip Fillers vs. BOTOX Lip Flip
In addition to fillers, we can use BOTOX® Cosmetic to enhance the lips. While fillers fill out the lips from within, BOTOX creates the illusion of a fuller top lip. It relaxes the muscle that controls the top lip, allowing the lip to roll slightly upward (flip), exposing more of the pink vermillion. Fillers are good for adding fullness and definition to the lips. A lip flip is good for a subtle enhancement and slightly exposing the teeth. What Is the Downtime After Filler Injections?
There is no downtime with dermal fillers. You can resume most activities right away. Your initial appearance after treatment with any dermal filler may include:
- An “over-filled” appearance due to swelling

These conditions can be alleviated with topical icing and will improve within a matter of hours or just a few days. If Dr. Camp uses your own fat as the injected filler, the healing process is longer and may take a few weeks.
