What Are My Breast Implant Options in Fort Worth?
If you’re considering breast augmentation, you have more choices than ever when it comes to selecting breast implants, which enable Dr. Camp to customize the procedure to best suit your body and aesthetic goals. Breast implant options include:
Implant Size: Even though most patients come to their consultations with an idea about the implant size they want, it’s essential to be flexible in your choice. That’s because the same-sized implant can produce very different results for women with different body frames and proportions. Dr. Camp uses his experience to help you select the size that best complements your physique.
Implant Shape: Breast implants are either round or shaped to resemble the slope of natural breasts, with more volume at the bottom of the implant. Round implants tend to produce more fullness in the upper portion of the breasts, while “teardrop” implants provide more subtle enhancement.
Implant Material: Implants are filled with either saline or cohesive silicone gel. Saline implants contain a biodegradable sterile saltwater solution. Cohesive silicone gel implants, including “gummy bear” implants, are quite popular in Fort Worth because most patients believe they feel and look more like natural breasts. Both materials have unique benefits, which Dr. Camp explains during the consultation.
Implant Texture: Breast implants are available with smooth or textured outer shells. In most cases, Dr. Camp uses smooth, round implants. Out of an abundance of caution, he limits the use of textured implants to rare cases where your unique physiology mandates a shaped (anatomical) implant that must be textured.*
Implant Profile: This choice involves how far the implants project from the chest. Low, moderate, moderate plus, and high-profile implants are typically available. During your consultation, Dr. Camp helps you understand which profile best suits your body type and cosmetic goals. As this graphic demonstrates, an implant’s profile (sometimes called projection) refers to how your results appear from the side. The choice is related to but different than the implant size.
Implant Profile Options
*Certain textured breast implants have been associated with a rare but highly treatable type of lymphoma called breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL). None of the implants we offer today are manufactured using either of the two major processes implicated in the ALCL studies (textured with Biocell salt loss and polyurethane coated). Understanding Breast Implant Incisions
Dr. Camp limits your breast implant incisions as much as possible for optimal safety and results. Using a small inframammary incision at the base of the breast allows your incision to be easily concealed by a swimsuit, bra, or bikini top. This approach gives Dr. Camp good access to the breast implant pocket while minimizing the potential for infection and the risk of capsular contracture. Dr. Camp’s preference for the inframammary approach rather than the periareolar (around the nipple) incision or transaxillary (armpit) incision is detailed in his 14-Point breast surgery plan.
After making your inframammary incision, Dr. Camp typically uses the innovative Keller Funnel® technique to insert your breast implants. This “no touch” approach allows Dr. Camp to use a sanitary cone-shaped device to guide your implants into the breast pocket with added precision and safety.
Key benefits of the Keller Funnel method include:
Preventing contamination
Minimizing tissue trauma
Less post-surgical bruising, swelling, and discomfort
Faster downtime and recovery

It’s a matter of personal preference. Many women choose silicone gummy bear implants for their natural look and feel. However, some women prefer filling their inserts with a biocompatible and biodegradable material such as sterile saltwater versus a gel-filled option. Dr. Camp ensures you have a thorough understanding of your breast implant options before guiding you toward the choice that best aligns with your needs and goals.
How many breast implant cubic centimeters should I choose?
When it comes to breast implants, think in terms of cubic centimeters (cc) instead of cup size. The higher the number of cubic centimeters, the larger the breast implant size. During your consultation, Dr. Camp will assess your existing breast tissue and aesthetic goals before helping you choose the correct implant size. We use VECTRA 3D imaging to help you visualize your enhanced look.
How often do I need to replace my implants?
Contrary to popular belief, it’s not necessary to replace your implants every 10 years, especially if you’re happy with the look and feel of your breasts. Dr. Camp invites breast augmentation patients to participate in complimentary annual follow-up visits to ensure you remain safe—and satisfied—with your breast implants.
Can I get a breast lift with implants?
Many women with sagging breasts benefit from a breast lift with implants in Fort Worth. This approach enhances breast volume while restoring breasts to their youthful, perky position. Combining breast augmentation with a breast lift and tummy tuck is popular for women requesting a combination mommy makeover surgery.
